Royston Georgia
The Busy Little City. The area that would become Royston was first settled by William W. Asberry around 1850. The city was named in honor of W.A. Royston, who owned one of the first general stores in town. Royston was incorporated in 1879.

Toccoa Georgia
The Heart of Northeast Georgia. The name Toccoa is derived from the Cherokee word for beautiful or where the Catawbas lived. Mississippian Indians (Mound Builders) and Cherokee Indians were the the first to call this area home.

Lavonia Georgia
Big Time - Small Town. Lavonia was incorporated in 1880 and was a railroad town along the old Elberton-Airline Railroad as they desired to expand the line further to the north. Earlier the area was populated by the Cherokee Indians.

Hartwell Georgia
Hart county is named after Nancy Hart, a local hero of the Revolutionary War. Hart county is the only county in Georgia named after a woman.

About us
Northeast Georgia Direct or NEGA Direct for short is a local owned website for the local community. NEGA Direct was created by Prize and Steve Fortmann, owners of Pure Web, who moved to the Tri County area. Their first step, as most people do when they move, was to find new contractors, doctors, a church, etc. They went to Google and searched for things like “Pediatrician” or ”Pest Control” but the search results that were returned were not what they were looking for, most were too far away and some were in other states! They began to wonder how accurate these nationwide search sites could be for a small community.
So they decided to build a community site that would include business listings, an event calendar, classified ads, and even articles on local flavor. They wanted something a little closer to home and that was more relevant to the area they lived in. Northeast Georgia Direct isn't just a website for searching out reputable companies to do business with, it is also a community portal where site visitors can get information on what is happening around them.
We are happy to call Northeast Georgia our home and look forward to serving you!
